The Fort Wayne Downtown Kiwanis Club is in need of volunteers to work its famous Apple Dumpling Booth at the Johnny Appleseed Festival on Saturday, Sept. 20 and Sunday, Sept. 21. All funds raised support Kiwanis' projects to benefit kids and families. A major focus this year is on youth mental health and creating more Riley Hospital Mental Health Hubs across the state. Shifs are Saturday: 9:30 - 1 pm and 2-6 pm. Sunday: 9:30 - 1 pm and 1 - 5 pm
There are certain clothes to wear for this event. Here is the info:
EVERYONE: Dark shoes (NO WHITE), no visible logos. Pull back long hair, as you'll be working around food
Ladies: white top, 3/4 to full sleeve, preferably no buttons. Skirts, bonnets & aprons will be provided.
Guys: blue jeans and light-colored teeshirt. Overshirt and hat will be provided.
Parking for the Johnny Appleseed Festival is FREE on the Purdue University Fort Wayne campus off of Coliseum Blvd. (walkers must take the river greenway path under the highway to reach the festival) as well as the Concordia High School sports area parking lot on N. Anthony Blvd. Buses to the Festival grounds run continuously at no charge from PFW Campus and Concordia High School. Parking is available for a fee at the Coliseum.
