The Volunteer Center is a 501c3 non-profit organization focused on strengthening and improving lives of the underserved in our local communities by incorporating volunteer service into sustainable community solutions. Through our Signature Programs, we are able to accomplish just that!
Our Signature Programs include:
- Coats for Kids - Provides warm winter coats to children living in poverty
- VITA Tax Preparation - Free tax preparation and financial literacy for low income working families
- Second Chance Legal Initiative - Free legal assistance that offers an opportunity at a second chance and a fresh start
- ICAN Service Team – Offers group based volunteer opportunities to individuals of all ages with physical and intellectual disabilities
- Friendly Caller/Are You OK? – Connects volunteers with senior, disabled or homebound, individuals for a weekly check in call
- Virtual Reader – Provides early childhood literacy opportunities for children and their parents
- Capacity Building for local nonprofit agencies - We support over 100 local non-profit agencies by connecting them to talented, skilled, and dependable volunteers that help meet their mission and expand services
