The National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) will conduct its annual national food drive in Fort Wayne on Saturday, May 13.
The Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive is the country’s largest single-day food drive, giving residents an easy way to donate food to those in need.
Residents simply leave their donation of non-perishable food items next to their mailbox before the delivery of mail on Saturday, May 13. Letter carriers will collect these items as they deliver mail along their postal routes, and distribute to local sites. The donation is given to Associated Churches of Fort Wayne and Allen County’s Neighborhood Food Network of 21 food pantries.
Letter carriers see the struggles in the communities they serve, and believe it is important to do what they can to help.
