The time is here to find volunteers for our big event: Mixology! Come be a part of the Science Central team for an evening of 21+ fun.
Volunteers for this event MUST be over the age of 21.
The event is called Mixology: CandyLand!. Mixology is an evening filled with great food, cocktails, entertainment, a silent auction, and of course, science! This year will feature Mixologists from some of Fort Wayne's favorite restaurants. Learn about the science of your favorite sweet treats.
Mixology happens at Science Central on Friday, November 4th, 2022 from 5:30-9:30pm. Below are all of the shifts/times that need filled, sign-up to be a volunteer!
Preparation/Decor - Friday, November 4th @ 9 AM - 4 PM (High priority in the morning!)
Four (4) volunteers needed to:
- Wipe down and cover tables with linens
- Set up tables/signage for bartenders
- Place additional signage wherever needed
- Distribute cups and napkins
- Distribute trash cans where needed
- Set up coat check
Clean Up/Guest Relations - Friday, November 4th @ 6 PM - 9:30 PM
Four (4) volunteers needed to:
- Clean up trash that you may find
- Remove trash liners and take out needed
- Disinfect high touch areas
- Assist and greet guests throughout the evening
Silent Auction Help/Guest Relations - Friday, November 4th @ 6:15 PM - 9:30 PM
One (1) volunteer needed to:
- Assist and greet guests throughout the evening by auction table
- Distribute programs
- Remind guests of Silent Auction end time
- Help carry auction items to the front desk at the end of the evening
Coat Check/Float - Friday, November 4th @ 5 PM - 10 PM
Three (3) volunteers needed to:
- Hang coats up with care
- Keep others belongings in order for easy retrieval
- Be a float with various other tags between coat checks
- Distribute goodie-bags/souvenirs
- Return lost items to front desk
Lighting Set-Up Assistant - Friday, November 4th @ 10 AM - 3 PM
One (1) volunteers needed to:
- Tasks assigned by Keith from Apollo
- Locate Science Central-owned white Chauvet pinspots
*Must wear sturdy, closed-toed shoes*
Exhibits Set Up - Friday, November 4th @ 3-6pm
Ten (10) volunteers needed to:
- Set-up tables, chairs, etc.
- Arrange exhibits on the floor
- Place overflow parking in the front lot
- Additional tasks as assigned by Aaron
*Must wear sturdy, closed-toed shoes and be able to move/lift heavy objects*
Tear-Down - Friday, November 5th @ 9:30 PM - 11 PM
As many as possible volunteers needed to:
- Tear down tables, chairs, etc.
- Take out remaining trash
- Disinfecting
