Our target audience are listeners of all ages who have visual, physical, learning, or language challenges to reading traditional print.
Available Opportunity:
Read the Journal Gazette live. Current, up-to-date local news is our focus, and most important to our listeners! Surveys consistently show that the live reading of the Journal Gazette is our most popular program. In this position you’ll read with an experienced volunteer partner. Current openings:
Monday mornings, 8:00 am - 11:00 am
Enhance the quality of life for our listeners:
"Thank you so much for this service. My mom depends upon it for her daily news.”
"Your news keeps my dad in tune and aware of current events, his days would be empty without your reading service."
"My mom looks forward to listening to the radio each day. Her life is better because she likes to be independent and she can get the news by just turning the radio on."
If your skills and passions match our needs, we’d love to have you join our audio reading team of ACPL volunteers! An interview and audition is required.
