We’re seeking caring and dependable volunteers to serve as One-on-One Tutors for adult learners working to strengthen their reading and writing skills. No teaching experience is necessary—we provide all the training and ongoing support you’ll need.
What You’ll Do:
- Meet individually with an adult learner at a local public library or our offices
- Support learners with academic and life skills tailored to their goals
- Provide consistent encouragement to help build skills and confidence
- Empower learners to pursue further education, better job opportunities, and greater independence
Ideal Volunteer Qualities:
- Patient, reliable, and empathetic
- Strong communication skills
- Passionate about lifelong learning and community impact.
Commitment: Flexible two hours a week for at least six months—but the impact can last a lifetime.
