Description

Be the eyes and ears on the trails! The City of Fort Wayne Greenways and Trails Department is seeking Greenway Rangers specifically along along our sidepath trails. 

A sidepath is a bidirectional shared use path located immediately adjacent and parallel to a roadway.

Greenway Ranger expectations:

  • Patrol a designated .5-1 mile section of trail at least once per week from April through October 
    • Rangers are welcome to continue patrolling through the winter, but this is not required.
  • Communicate any problems (graffiti, downed limbs, trail damage, etc.) immediately to the Program Manager
  • Input hours spent patrolling assigned section at least once per month. 
  • Pick up litter and perform small-scale maintenance tasks (move small limbs, sweep rocks, etc.) as needed. If maintenance cannot be completed by ranger, Program Manager should be notified
