Community Outreach Volunteer

One K9 Corp is looking for volunteers who want to do more than simply donate their time—we are looking for people who want to make a measurable difference in the lives of veterans, individuals experiencing homelessness, and community members facing crisis.
Our team works directly in the community every day, providing meals, outreach, suicide prevention support, veteran assistance, harm reduction resources, transportation assistance, clothing distribution, and connections to life-changing services.

This is hands-on volunteer work. You will work alongside disabled combat veterans, healthcare professionals, veteran advocates, and community leaders who believe that service happens face-to-face and person-to-person. Volunteer Activities Volunteers may assist with: Serving meals and distributing foodHomeless outreach and community engagementVeteran support and peer outreachClothing and hygiene distributionCommunity events and special projectsResource navigation and referralsTransportation and logistics supportHarm reduction and public safety initiativesService dog and FOB program activities No experience is required.

We will teach you what you need to know. What matters most is a willingness to help others with dignity, compassion, and respect.

One K9 Corp is a veteran-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving Northeast Indiana.
Each year, One K9:
Serves approximately 36,500 meals
Conducts more than 10,000 community outreach contacts
Supports more than 1,000 veterans
Distributes over 15,000 Lifeline emergency communication devices
Distributes more than 5,200 Narcan units
Distributes more than 5,200 gun locks
Distributes more than 26,000 condoms and harm-reduction resources
Conducts hundreds of wellness checks, crisis interventions, and support encounters
