VOLUNTEERS NEEDED || Do you have 2 1/2 hours to spare each month? Do you have a passion for animals, children, and reading? If you would like to make an impact in your community, we would love to speak to you. The mission of Literacy for Companionship Inc. is to educate and empower children with the skills and confidence necessary to be good readers while helping them understand the importance of showing animals
compassion and empathy.
We are looking for volunteers for our Read Day each month at the Whitley County Humane Shelter. Duties may include:
- Check children in and out
• Help children pick out books when needed
• Monitor children and animals
• Punch cards and let children choose from the treasure chest
• Set up and clean up as need be
• Pass out goodie bags and parent packets
• Make sure all children and families have left before the closing of the event
• Make sure all of LfC’s belongings are picked up & put back in the volunteer cart and the cart is locked
