Matthew 25 Health and Care (Matthew 25 Clinic)

In the summer of 1975, a small prayer group felt a need to apply Christ’s instructions and improve the lives of people in the community. Father Tom O'Connor, who had been serving soup to people in need, recognized that those same neighbors needed health services. For eight months, a small group, led by the Holy Spirit, met at St. Mary's rectory to explore how to turn their ideas into reality. On May 1, 1976, the Matthew 25 Health Clinic opened its doors to provide free health education and screenings for those less fortunate. Today, Matthew 25 is a comprehensive medical and dental home for the uninsured in northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio. Without Matthew 25, these individuals would face uncertain future with poor quality of life and limited access, if any, to healthcare. Matthew 25 serves Allen, Adams, Wells, Huntington, Wabash, Kosciusko, Whitley, Noble, LaGrange, Steuben, and DeKalb counties in Indiana.

Matthew 25 doesn’t receive Government funding. Services are possible because of 425 volunteers who donate over 19,000 hours every year. Our volunteers are physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, pharmacists, office help, and students who volunteer their time to serve the sick. At Matthew 25, we could not do what we do without the help of these volunteers and generous donors.

Matthew 25 is faith based nonprofit agency who is strengthening families and community by providing at no cost medical and dental care to individuals who are uninsured and don't have funds to pay for healthcare services. Matthew 25's goal is to continue to lead our community to a better place to live and raise families. We are committed to help sick get back on their feet and work their way out of poverty and into a new way of life that would never have been possible without medical aid. Over the years, Matthew 25 has grown to a medical center that provides over 20 different services all under one roof.
