Who We Are

Hope Alive is a Christian ministry founded in 1974 that provides hope and healing to emotionally hurting people through Christ-centered love and professional mental health services. While its primary focus is supporting women—especially through the only residential mental health program for women in Fort Wayne—we also serve anyone in need through affordable counseling services. Our ministry team consist of 6 staff members.

Focus on Low-Income and Underserved: Nearly 100% of those served by Hope Alive meet the criteria for being low-income and underserved.

• One-of-a-Kind: Hope Alive uniquely provides comprehensive support for homeless women and underserved people with mental health struggles, making mental health care and safe housing accessible to those who often fall between the cracks.

Breaking Down Barriers: Hope Alive addresses the significant and prevalent financial barriers to mental health care, ensuring that everyone can access the treatment they need, regardless of their ability to pay.

Holistic Approach: Hope Alive addresses mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual needs through a holistic, Christ-centered approach, fostering holistic well-being and teaching essential life skills.

Inclusive Mission: Committed to Christ-like love and respect, Hope Alive serves the community regardless of identity, origin, ability, religion, culture, socioeconomic status, or age.

Key Programs:
     o Community Counseling Program: Providing affordable, professional Christian counseling to anyone, particularly those who cannot afford treatment elsewhere.

     o Residential Program: Providing temporary housing and Christ-based wraparound services to assist homeless adult women with mental health needs achieve self-sufficiency and holistic wellness.

     o Internship Program: Providing internships for counselors-in-training, addressing the mental health professional shortage by training future counselors who will serve the community for years to come.
