National Airmail Museum, Inc.

We are a group of local citizens who have a clear vision as to the renovation of Hangar 2 at Smith Field, and its use as local/regional/national attraction. In addition to providing the fascinating history of the National Airmail Service, our facility will also provide a vast array of educational elements about the science of flight and career opportunities in the aircraft industry. We will also have interactive displays, a "drone zone" and flight simulators. As such, the museum will offer a historical look-back as well as significant "looking-forward" educational elements.

At this point, our main areas of focus are: 1) continuing to build our board of directors and 2) fund-raising. Since we do not yet have our own building, the Fort Wayne Allen County Airport Authority has welcomed us to use a meeting room at the Smith Field. The board meets once a month.
