Share your holiday cheer in a simple, easy way by helping us label and stuff envelopes for our Christmas Card mailing! 

Location: Noll Catholic Center at the Catholic Charities office. Parking is free in the attached parking garage. Any questions can be directed to Althea at 260-422-5625 ext. 212.

Parking Instructions: We are located at 915 S. Clinton St. You can enter our parking garage off of Clinton or Washington and park for free. Then, take the elevator to the first floor. Once in the lobby, look for the glass doors to your left. Go down the hallway and through the second set of glass doors. You can check in with our receptionist there.

We have 3-4 carts in our office that have been well used and need a little fixing up as we would like to continue using them! We are in need of a trusted handy person to help us out with this.

Scheduling is flexible anytime during our office hours of 8am-5pm Monday-Thursday and 8am-12pm on Fridays.

This is traditionally one of our busiest events (1000-2000 guests) with visitors of all ages.

There will be a variety of health-related displays set up around the building and staffed by local doctors' offices.

We typically do not have activity tables of our own on this day. But we need volunteers to man the doors and keep the event running smoothly.

Countdown to Noon is an annual event hosted by Science Central. On New Years Eve we open our doors to families from across the region. We have fun and festivities throughout the day. At precisely noon we drop balloons, totaling the next year.  Come be a part of the fun this New Year's Eve.

Wrap gifts, help clients shop, or keep our Christmas shop maintained during our annual Christmas Program located in Southeast Fort Wayne.

When: Available dates to volunteer are December 5th (set up 9am-10:30am only), 8th-11th, and 15th-17th. Shifts run from 9am-12pm, 12pm-3pm, and 3pm-5pm.

This is the first of many outreach events hosted by Flourish Fort Wayne. We will focus on urban gardening and prepping your soil for the winter.

Ryan's Case for smiles sews pillowcases for children in the hospital. Our cases stay local.

We need pinners, Ironers, trimmers (rotary cutting system), sergers and sewers.

We also need ironers for washed cases ready to pack, supervised children, age 5+, can put inserts in Ziplock bags and zip them closed.

We work with individuals who need service hours (NHS, GS/SoA)

Wednesday evenings (the second and fourth each month), Journey Beside Mothers hosts events for moms to attend. Our Great Moms Club is open to any mom and childcare is needed for preschool aged children while we offer the moms community, enrichment and support. The childcare will be from 5:50 - 7:30. A light meal will be provided. A background check is required. We welcome ages 16+ to volunteer. 

Meet and assist families with babies and young children at A Baby's Closet (ABC).  As a volunteer at ABC, you will greet families and provide customer service to our clients.  Volunteers should possess a cooperative, loving attitude and be able to work closely with staff, other volunteers, and customers.  You may choose to volunteer weekly, bi-monthly, or monthly. Volunteers must first meet with the ABC Director or the Volunteer Coordinator before volunteering. (How does ABC work? ABC provides essential baby items to mothers and fathers who receive education about nutrition, parenting, and prenatal care.  Coupons are received from service providers to be used for items at ABC.)

When We Need You:
Tuesdays & Saturdays, 10–11:30 AM – Join us for lively Bingo fun and friendly conversation!
Wednesdays–Fridays, 2–3:30 PM – Help out with Noodle Ball and other movement games, fingernail painting, and cheerful happy hour gatherings.

We also would love to have volunteers spend time one-to-one, listening and reminiscing about the “good old days” or playing piano (or other musical instruments) for our friends.

We’re looking for volunteers who bring empathy, patience, and adaptability, along with a willingness to learn a person-centered approach—one that focuses on building trust, understanding, and genuine connection. Whether you can come once a week or just occasionally, your presence truly makes a difference!

Assist as needed with special events, fundraisers, events taking place in our garden venue, helping in our warehouse, assisting at The Gown Garden, and wherever help is needed.  We are flexible with volunteers hours. There are lots of opportunities to match your skills.

Repair formal and semi-formal dresses as needed. Repairing of items could include zippers, button, and hems. Dresses can be picked up at The Gown Garden boutique and taken home to be mended. 

At the Gown Garden, assist customers in finding affordable formal wear, semi-formal wear, jewelry, shoes and other items. Assist brides with trying on gowns and finding accessories. Assist with basic boutique maintenance. Assist with incoming donations and help as needed with special events throughout the year. 

Spread awareness of the organization throughout the community. Network with resources and share/speak about our mission with churches, non-profit organizations in and around Allen County and at events. Help distribute information about From This Day Forward and the Gown Garden boutique. 

Dinner Pick Up Driver

This volunteer will graciously donate 1-2 hours of time and the fuel needed to pick up restaurant provided meals that are located a few miles from Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northeast Indiana. To be a dinner delivery driver, you must have proof of a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance and you must log your hours through Volunteer Center to be covered by their insurance. Supplemental liability insurance is offered by both RMHC and Volunteer Center. The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northeast Indiana will gladly work with volunteers during inclement weather. The safety of our volunteers is very important.

Pickups are typically on Wednesdays.  Meal pickups are usually at 5:30 p.m.

Hey, want to be part of something awesome? The City of Fort Wayne Greenways and Trails team is on the lookout for folks to join as Greenway Rangers and help keep our sidepath trails in top shape.

Oh, and if you’re wondering, a sidepath is just a fancy name for a two-way trail that runs right along the road—think bikes, joggers, and dog-walkers all sharing the lane.

Here’s what you’d be doing as a Greenway Ranger:

- Patrol your own little stretch of trail (half a mile to a mile) once a week from April through October. Winter patrols? Totally your call.

- Notice anything weird—like graffiti, fallen branches, or cracks in the path? Give the Program Manager a quick shout.

- Track your patrol hours each month. Nothing tricky, promise.

- Pick up litter, clear away small branches, sweep up debris—just the easy stuff. If it’s something bigger, let the Program Manager know and they’ll handle it.

Girls on the Run Northeast Indiana is looking for volunteers for its end of season final 5K celebration.  The event will take place on Sunday November 23rd at Shoaff Park in Fort Wayne, IN.  The festivities begin at 1:00pm with the 5K kicking off at 3:00pm. 

We are looking for individuals to help with set up, clean up, managing the water station, and placing medals on finishers.  We also need volunteers to staff our pre-5K activities including happy hair, bling your bib, friendship bracelets, and inspiration station.  All materials will be provided for you.

Arrival time and hours of service will depend on role.

Whether you come as a family or with friends, coworkers, classmates, or teammates, preparing a meal for our guests is a meaningful and rewarding experience. You can choose to make breakfast, lunch, or dinner, either in our beautiful gourmet kitchen or by bringing food from a commercial kitchen or restaurant.

Volunteers typically cook for 12–15 people at our Lutheran location and 10-12 people at our Dupont location. We don’t require you to accommodate specific dietary needs, guests are always welcome to prepare something else from the pantry if needed.

NATIVE PLANT PROPAGATION SERIES: Seed Cleaning Party!

Inside our office we'll learn the varying techniques in cleaning seeds of different native species, enjoy some snacks and tunes, and learn some plant trivia in the process!

Adult life comes with many joys and challenges, as you may have experienced personally. CASS
is looking to provide mentors to help CASS Housing residents navigate life. CASS staff will pair
the mentor with a CASS resident based on interests, personality, and schedules. Mentors will
provide a listening ear, advice, and accountability for reaching goals. Mentorship sessions will be
individualized to the CASS resident, and training will be provided on CASS specific policies and
best practices in communicating and interacting with individuals with disabilities. The goal is for
mentorship sessions to occur on a regular schedule such as biweekly or monthly for a
minimum of one hour per session.

Qualifications include: 

18 or older

Desire to support individuals with ID/DD in learning independent living skills

This is a great event, and CHFB's second busiest farm wagon. It is a fast paced activity that requires attention to detail and safety. Because of this, we ask that you are at least 14 years old. Our target audience is listeners of all ages who have difficulty seeing, holding, or understanding traditional printed materials.

Read the Journal Gazette live. Current, up-to-date local news is our focus, and most important to our listeners! Surveys consistently show that the live reading of the Journal Gazette is our most popular program. In this position you’ll read with an experienced volunteer partner. Current openings:

Toy Shop volunteers are needed to help clients pick out their clothing, coats, and toys for their children. Some of our Coats are provided by The Volunteer Center, Coats for Kids Campaign! You will have a shopping cart and will assist clients throughout our gym. We need shoppers and stockers for this event. Ronald McDonald House volunteers keep our program running smoothly 365 days a year. A volunteer is often the first face a family sees when they arrive. Volunteers keep the Ronald McDonald House tidy and welcoming, and assist guests through their stay.

Comfort Cart: 

Support families by offering donated snacks, beverages, toys, and crafts to families without them leaving their child’s room. Volunteers visit the PICU, PEDS, and CCN units in the hospital.

We are in particular need of a volunteer at 6:00 p.m. on Thursdays as well a  volunteer on Saturdays during the afternoon.

Volunteers that are Veterans visit hospice patients that are also Veterans. Patient's may live in an Extended Care Facility, community hospital, or in personal residence. Volunteers may choose to visit patients in Columbia City, Fort Wayne, Huntington, Wabash, Auburn, Angola, Kendallville, LaGrange and the surrounding communities in Northeast Indiana. New moms may choose a homemade knitted or crocheted blanket when visiting A Baby's Closet.  Size approximately 30" by 36".  Moms and their babies love these blankets. Show your creativity! Blankets can be delivered to Associated Churches, 602 E. Wayne St, Fort Wayne, on Monday-Thursday from 8-3 pm and Fri from 8-12.

A Baby's Closet helps families experiencing hardship by providing baby items to safely take care of their children.  Moms earn coupons by going to pre-natal and pediatric appointments, parenting education, and continuing their education.

Lutheran Life Villages sponsors and hosts the Rock Steady Boxing Program.  The mission of Rock Steady Boxing is to equip our affiliates and empower the coaches to improve the quality of life of people with Parkinson’s disease through a non-contact, boxing-based fitness curriculum.

Make a Difference in a Child’s Life – Become a CASA Volunteer

The Allen County CASA Program recruits, trains, and supports volunteers to advocate for abused and neglected children in the court system. CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) volunteers get to know the child, gather information, and make recommendations to the court about what is in the child’s best interest.

As a CASA volunteer, you’ll be a consistent and supportive presence for a child navigating the foster care system. You’ll help the child understand what’s happening in their case and ensure their voice is heard among a sea of professionals-lawyers, caseworkers, doctors, and judges.

Your advocacy helps judges make informed decisions so children can be placed in safe, permanent homes as quickly as possible. Beyond court, CASA volunteers often support educational needs, encourage goals, and serve as positive role models. This is more than volunteering, it’s a chance to change a child’s life, and your own.

Assist in organizing event decor including but not limited to linens, florals, center pieces, and other items stored in our warehouse location. Also, assist with packing, prepping, and pickup/returns of decor rental items. This could include lifting, folding linens, organizing, sorting, inventorying, etc. Work can be done in either The Gown Garden (From This Day Forward) or the warehouse. 

We are in need of food pantry help! Especially Thursdays!

Each Monday (12:00-3:00), Tuesday (9:00-12:00) and Thursday (12:00-3:00), we operate a food pantry. We have seen a major increase in families coming through our doors. We are in need of people to help us distribute to families. You can volunteer for as many or as little hours as you'd like. You can bring your group or even volunteer alone. This process consists of walking customers through our pantry with a shopping cart and helping them make choices.  We'd love to know ahead of time however, if you're in the area, stop in and we'll put you to work :)

We need volunteer  to be on call when there is a need! Deliveries can take 15 minutes or four hours. They will vary due to upcoming needs. Some routes will be planned on a schedule but others will occur based on needs that pop up. 

A Red Cross vehicle and gas card will be available to you for this position after a Motor Vehicle Report is run and a brief, online, drivers safety training course is complete.

Volunteer help is needed to load the truck with food in our food pantry, take the truck with food to our neighbors in Roanoke in the parking lot of Seminary United Methodist Church, 285 Seminary Street, and then bring any remaining items back to the food pantry in the truck.

Our Carpenter’s Sons get together on Tuesday mornings for coffee and fellowship, and then we head out to tackle various home repair projects around the community. And don’t worry if you’re not a seasoned carpenter. The Carpenter’s Sons are always happy to teach and mentor new volunteers, so you can learn and grow alongside experienced professionals.

If you have carpentry skills or experience (professional or hobbyist level is welcome), or if you’re just starting, we’d love to have you on board! Basic knowledge of tools, materials, and construction methods is a plus, but we’re open to learning from you.

Standard Delivery In-School Volunteer:  These volunteers visit a class once a week to deliver the JA program. The number of visits vary depending on the grade level, usually 5-7 visits for 30-45 minutes each. Classes run from Pre-K through 12th grade. Training and materials are provided.

JA In A Day Event Volunteer:  These volunteers deliver the JA program, all sessions in one morning. The entire school has JA volunteers in every classroom. It is a one day only commitment for 4-5 hours. Dates are set up with the schools in advance. Training and materials are provided beforehand.

Before their arrival at Lincoln Finance Park, students are prepared in the classroom to participate in a carefully designed simulation that closely resembles real-life budget planning. While visiting, each student will become an adult for the day. All students will be responsible for planning a monthly budget for themselves and their fictional families.  Volunteers will provide guidance to the students as they plan their budgets. Volunteers who offer to assist must participate in an on-site training 30 minutes prior to student arrival on the day of the simulation. This training provides volunteers with the opportunity to understand the in-class program as well as the on-site schedule and procedures. They will gain knowledge and experience about their role in assisting the students. We have volunteer openings for the 2025-2026 school year, contact JA for open dates. 

JA BizTown® combines in-class learning with a day-long visit to our simulated town. This popular learning experience allows elementary school students to operate banks, manage restaurants, write checks, and vote for mayor. Students are able to connect the dots between what they learn in school and the real world. Volunteering is a one day commitment that includes an on-site training one hour prior to student arrival. Each volunteer will then be assigned a business where they will assist a group of 4-10 students throughout their work tasks and responsibilities. We're looking for a nurturing Foster Grandma to bring warmth and gentle care into the lives of our littlest ones! Your role volunteering with babies would include: reading picture books, singing soft lullabies to soothe and comfort, gently rocking babies, making music and sharing joyful sounds, using simple words to build early vocabulary to support infant development, and bonding with infants who need extra love. This is a special opportunity to be a meaningful part of a child’s earliest memories!
