Volunteer with Heartland Hospice. You can volunteer in a variety of ways. We will find you patients to visit, near where you live!

We have patients in a 50 mile radius of Fort Wayne- they would love for you to visit!

Friendly Visits: Visit with a patient typically for about an hour. Play games, play cards, listen to music, watch tv or movies, talk and more. Share your talents and time with someone who would truly appreciate it.

Caregiver Relief: Help families that are taking care of someone they love. Give them a much needed break and spend time with their loved one. Typically about 2-4 hours.

Vigil Relief: Help us fulfill our philosophy that a patient should never die alone or feel alone when they die. Sit with a patient so they are not alone. Please reach out if you have any questions or would like to learn more about connecting with our amazing patients.

We are looking for a few people who love to talk with others and who are comfortable talking to people on the phone. We want to connect with the families of our patients. 

You could do this weekly or bi-weekly for a few hours each time.

We would provide support and training. The calls would be made from our main office at 2720 Dupont Commerce Ct. Fort Wayne, IN 46825

We are looking for volunteers to visit with our patients regularly. This is a great way to connect with others and make a positive impact. We would love to have someone who can fill in with patient visits when someone else has to cancel their visit.

Are you a caring and compassionate person? Do you like to visit with others? We NEED YOU! Our patients look forward to someone visiting with them. You can eat a meal together, read to them, watch tv, talk, play games, do crafts and more! Our volunteers are offered free training and will receive a TB test prior to their initial visit. Training schedule is based upon each volunteer's availability and is flexible.
