Volunteer: Clerical - Front Desk

We are seeking a friendly, reliable, and outgoing volunteer to assist at the front desk of our Community Center. As a Front Desk Clerical Volunteer, you will be the first point of contact for participants, providing a warm welcome and assisting with various administrative tasks.  We specifically are looking for someone to fill Friday mornings from 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM. 

Key Responsibilities:  

* Greet visitors and participants with a positive, approachable attitude

* Handle cash and process payments for activities and events.

* Answer phone calls, direct inquiries, and take messages as needed.

* Assist with basic computer tasks such as updating schedules, entering data, and maintaining records. ·         

* Engage with the general public, answering questions, and providing information about community programs and services.


Requirements:    

* A passion for working with people and providing excellent customer service.

* Basic computer skills (Very basic data entry, and cash register usage) ·        

* Strong communication skills, both in person and over the phone. ·        

* Commitment to volunteering once a week for a 4.5-hour shift.


Shifts available:

Morning: 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM - Specifically looking for Friday mornings

Afternoon: 12:30 PM to 4:30 PM

Instructors are motivated people who have an interest or a hobby and who are willing to donate a few hours of their time to share their knowledge and skills with others by teaching a class or seminar.   Subjects could include art, culinary, language, computers, crafts, etc.

 

* NOTE: The Community Center is looking to expand their computer lab classes, Web Browser, Android 101, Basic Internet and Power Point are just a few ideas for classes. If you are interested and/or have other ideas for classes please respond through this page.
