Volunteer Opportunities From: Volunteer Center

Volunteers doing laundry wash, dry, fold, sort, and operate equipment.  Volunteers doing dishes wash, run dishes though the dishwasher, dry and put dishes away.  Laundry volunteer may also take breaks to socialize with our adoption cats. Thank you for your consideration! Before volunteering, you will be required to complete an application and go through training. Volunteers provide positive reinforcement care and socialization to alleviate stress and maintain the health and sociability of the dogs in our adoption program. Volunteers walk adoption dogs to our exercise courtyard for a potty break and exercise while ensuring kennels are clean before returning the dogs to them following detailed instructions.  Thank you for your consideration! Before volunteering, you will be required to complete an application and go through training. Volunteers clean and tidy the areas where cats feeling a little under the weather reside following detailed instructions. Volunteers also learn how to properly interact with and socialize the cats.  Current opening is every Friday morning approximately 8:30-10:00. Thank you for your consideration! Before volunteering, you will be required to complete an application and go through training. Hello there! We are currently searching for a dedicated volunteer who loves cats, excels at customer service, and believes in the mission of Fort Wayne Animal Care and Control. We have an opening for an Adoption Cat Counselor. The position is every Friday from 3:00-5:30 and is responsible for walking potential adopters through our adoption center and helping them find their new cat family member. Volunteer has to be comfortable facilitating the entire adoption; from finding their cat, to discussing transitioning the cat into their home, to handling the money. Well hello there! Do you want to play a vital role in providing the wonderful adopters that come to our facility exceptional customer service which will result in getting more animals adopted? Do you have great people skills and have customer service experience? WE NEED YOU! Our Adoption Administrative Assistant Volunteers help our adoption center run efficiently and effectively. These volunteers answer phones, return voicemails, and other clerical duties to help us stay well-organized. Our current openings are every Friday from 11:30 - 3:00 and Before you begin you will need to attend an orientation and you will receive ample training. Thank you!

Love dogs and don't mind getting a little messy? We need YOU! This volunteer position is the first person to greet our adoption dogs in the mornings. This position rotates our adoption dogs to the courtyard, feeds then  cleans out their kennels, and ensures our dogs have toys and a cozy kennel to call their own. It is a physically demanding job that requires scrubbing, scooping, and walking strong dogs. But it is VERY rewarding. The open positions are Sunday, Monday and Wednesday mornings from 9:00 - 11:00 (approx) Thank you for your consideration! Before volunteering, you will be required to complete an application and go through training.
