Volunteer Opportunities From: Volunteer Center

Volunteer to assist at the Whitley County Council on Aging weekly on Wednesdays from 11:30 am to 4:00 pm. This is in coordination with our Rural Respite Program. 

Aging & In-Home Services provide services to individuals with memory loss.  Activities will include:

Helping with set up of activity roomGreeting the members as they arrive and on-going socializationEngage with the group to provide fun, stimulating, memory enhancing activities, such as exercise, crafts, games, and music.Provide a supportive environment for the person with memory loss and their caregiversHelping with clean-upEnd of day report out of observations

Agency is open Monday - Thursday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm; and Friday 8:00 am - 12:00 pm.

We can split shifts into morning shift from 8:00 am - 12:30 pm; or afternoon shift from 12:30 pm to 4:30 pm.  

Duties include: 

Greet visitors at door and assist with registration and referral to appropriate staffCommunicate with supervisor on daily basis, and as needed, to report all areas of concern/issues/incidents Demonstrate professionalism in relationships with customers/co-workers/supervisorsAssemble packets of information for different departmentsOrganize and clean front desk area and conference room
