We are looking for a few people who love to talk with others and who are comfortable talking to people on the phone. We want to connect with the families of our patients. 

You could do this weekly or bi-weekly for a few hours each time.

Volunteers doing laundry wash, dry, fold, sort, and operate equipment.  Volunteers doing dishes wash, run dishes though the dishwasher, dry and put dishes away.  Laundry volunteer may also take breaks to socialize with our adoption cats. Thank you for your consideration! Before volunteering, you will be required to complete an application and go through training. Volunteers provide positive reinforcement care and socialization to alleviate stress and maintain the health and sociability of the dogs in our adoption program. Volunteers walk adoption dogs to our exercise courtyard for a potty break and exercise while ensuring kennels are clean before returning the dogs to them following detailed instructions.  Thank you for your consideration! Before volunteering, you will be required to complete an application and go through training. Volunteers clean and tidy the areas where cats feeling a little under the weather reside following detailed instructions. Hello there! We are currently searching for a dedicated volunteer who loves cats, excels at customer service, and believes in the mission of Fort Wayne Animal Care and Control. We have an opening for an Adoption Cat Counselor. The position is every Friday from 3:00-5:30 and is responsible for walking potential adopters through our adoption center and helping them find their new cat family member. Volunteer has to be comfortable facilitating the entire adoption; from finding their cat, to discussing transitioning the cat into their home, to handling the money. Well hello there! Do you want to play a vital role in providing the wonderful adopters that come to our facility exceptional customer service which will result in getting more animals adopted? Do you have great people skills and have customer service experience? WE NEED YOU! Our Adoption Administrative Assistant Volunteers help our adoption center run efficiently and effectively. These volunteers answer phones, return voicemails, and other clerical duties to help us stay well-organized. Our current openings are every Friday from 11:30 - 3:00 and Before you begin you will need to attend an orientation and you will receive ample training. Thank you!

Love dogs and don't mind getting a little messy? We need YOU! This volunteer position is the first person to greet our adoption dogs in the mornings. This position rotates our adoption dogs to the courtyard, feeds then  cleans out their kennels, and ensures our dogs have toys and a cozy kennel to call their own. It is a physically demanding job that requires scrubbing, scooping, and walking strong dogs. But it is VERY rewarding. Dinner Pick Up Driver

This volunteer will graciously donate 1-2 hours of time and the fuel needed to pick up restaurant provided meals that are located a few miles from Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northeast Indiana. To be a dinner delivery driver, you must have proof of a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance and you must log your hours through Volunteer Center to be covered by their insurance. Supplemental liability insurance is offered by both RMHC and Volunteer Center. The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northeast Indiana will gladly work with volunteers during inclement weather. The safety of our volunteers is very important.

Every Thursday pick up. Meal pickups on weekdays are anywhere from Noon - 5:30 p.m.

Healthier Moms and Babies provides services, support, and education to our most vulnerable neighbors so they can have successful pregnancies and create healthier futures. You can help the families in our community by helping distribute diapers at our Hopper Events (Mobile Diaper Distribution). 

Hopper Event locations vary, we visit anywhere from 6-9 locations per month. Hopper events happen rain or shine, please dress accordingly and wear close toed shoes. You will he helping distribute diapers to community members. Diaper boxes can require you to lift up to 30 lbs.

We have several trees in our woods that we would like to have cut up and stacked so that we can use the wood for fires. This project could be done anytime between now and May.

Warehouse Support shifts included loading the Hopper (Mobile Diaper Delivery Van) for upcoming outreach events and gathering staff diapers for the month. This task can be done individually, in pairs, or in a small group. All of the needed tools and instructions will be provided.

The Diaper Warehouse is not climate controlled and can be quite dusty.
Please wear comfortable clothes and closed-toed shoes.
May require lifting boxes up to 30 lbs.

This is an on-going volunteer opportunity for those who love planting and playing in the dirt. The members of this group will work alongside the rest of the Garden Club members plant and maintain our raised vegetable garden, front of office planters, front sign and potentially a small pumpkin patch. 

We are looking for volunteers to visit with our patients regularly. This is a great way to connect with others and make a positive impact. We would love to have someone who can fill in with patient visits when someone else has to cancel their visit.

GiGi's Tutor volunteers/mentors will work 1:1 assisting children and adults with literacy and/or math. We are seeking caring, understanding and energetic people to help our participants succeed. Must be kind and enthusiastic with the desire to help 1 person learn, grow and surpass your expectations. There is training provided by GiGi's to assure volunteers are prepared and comfortable with their role. Each volunteer tutor is only needed as little as 1 hour per week. If you desire to help a child or adult learn to read, write or progress in math skills this is where it's at!

We are in need of a Spanish speaking volunteer to assist participant(s) in communication during programming. Our Spanish speaking population is growing, so is our need for volunteers to help these friends navigate all that GiGi's has to offer. Times will vary. 

GiGi's is seeking volunteers to assist our young adult participants opportunity to explore their community. We are looking for energetic, caring individuals to join GiGi's adults doing a variety of activities including; going to the library, learning social and job skills, and volunteering to make a difference in their community as well. The Alzheimer's Association Greater Indiana Chapter works with volunteer advocates across the state of Indiana to advance public policy supporting those impacted by Alzheimer's and all other dementia. Advocates engage year-round with their federal elected officials in the Advocacy Program and their state elected officials during our legislative session each spring. Our non-partisan efforts engage elected officials on both sides of the aisle to advance our mission of a World Without Alzheimer's and All Other Dementia. Through various advocacy activities - like phone calls, meetings, letters to the editor, emails and social media posts - advocates encourage their elected officials to prioritize this disease on the federal and state level.

Whitley County Council on Aging/ Woodlands Senior Activity Center's mission is to enable the senior citizens of Whitley County to live confident, independent and productive lives by providing educational programs and services.

Volunteers are needed to plant vegetables, water plants, pick garden vegetables, trim bushes, pull weeds and maintain neat grounds. Does not include mowing the lawn or edging.

Lutheran Life Villages sponsors and hosts the Rock Steady Boxing Program.  The mission of Rock Steady Boxing is to equip our affiliates and empower the coaches to improve the quality of life of people with Parkinson’s disease through a non-contact, boxing-based fitness curriculum.

We are looking for volunteers to help participants who may need some extra assistance, help with organizing equipment, and assisting the coaches.  

Instructors are the key to having successful educational and recreational programs. Instructors are motivated people who have an interest or a hobby and who are willing to donate a few hours of their time to share their knowledge and skills with others by teaching a class or seminar.   Subjects could include art, culinary, language, computers, crafts, etc.

Varied, creating for logging hours purposes. We are looking for volunteers for our annual Senior Games throughout the month of June 2024! 

Love being around kids, but feel it is a bit daunting to set and mentor with school children?  This is a change to ease into those opportunities. This role consists of arriving prior to the schedueld start time for Bridge of Grace Afterschool Programs to prepar snacks.  The role will also consist of planning the snack weekly schedule, taking inventory of items and preparing a list of items to be purchased.  After snack has been distributed, clean up so that kitchen and items are ready for the next day. 

This role does not require having to stay for the duration of programing each day.  

Programing runs Monday - Thursday (Snack Volunteers can work all four days or a combination of the programing days.)

Love being around kids? Are you available from 3:30-5:30pm? Group leaders stay with an assigned group of kids and keep them on schedule, moving from place to place to where they need to be and provide help to keep them focused and on task during the enrichment, devotional or mentoring / reading time. 

After School Programs occur Monday - Thursday (Volunteer days can be all four days or combination of the days.)

Want to provide meals to families in need from your home kitchen without having to deliver it? Lasagna Love is a perfect fit!

You do not need to be a professional chef - just someone who loves to cook and share kindness. 

Volunteering is flexible and easy and you can make a difference from anywhere you live! You choose how many lasagnas you want to compile each time (one or two a month; one every other week, etc.).

Never made a lasagna before? We have a kind group of volunteers who will support you and share their recipes. 

As a Lasagna Love Chef, you will make a lasagna entrée that another volunteer will pick up and deliver for you.  Another option is to make an uncooked lasagna to be picked up by a Lasagna Love volunteer that will be cooked and delivered when a family in need requests a delivery. Or you could deliver it yourself.

The Lasagna Love Regional Leaders will offer some training (food safety, listing all ingredients, tips for an easily transportable pan, etc.). Once you express an interest, we will send an email with simple instructions.  Make sure you respond that you can not personally deliver but are willing to compile the lasagna.

In addition to supported-independent living housing, CASS Housing provides educational
programming for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to grow in their
independent living skills. You can help support the mission of CASS Housing by volunteering to
teach a class(es) or lead an experience in your area of knowledge. CASS is always looking for
opportunities for new experiences for Core Members to enhance their daily lives. Example
classes could be but are not limited to cooking, gardening, knitting, basic home repairs, etc.
Training will be provided on CASS specific policies and best practices in communicating and
interacting with individuals with disabilities. If you think this is something you would be
interested in, we would love to hear from you and discuss how to put your strengths and interests
into a class or experience for Core Members

Adult life comes with many joys and challenges, as you may have experienced personally. CASS
is looking to provide mentors to help CASS Housing residents navigate life. CASS staff will pair
the mentor with a CASS resident based on interests, personality, and schedules. Mentors will
provide a listening ear, advice, and accountability for reaching goals. Mentorship sessions will be
individualized to the CASS resident, and training will be provided on CASS specific policies and
best practices in communicating and interacting with individuals with disabilities. The goal is for
mentorship sessions to occur on a regular schedule such as weekly, biweekly, or monthly for a
minimum of one hour per session.

Qualifications include: 

18 or older

Desire to support individuals with ID/DD in learning independent living skills

Meals are provided each week for those attending Circles meetings. Help is needed with any or all of the following depending on the schedule - meal preparation, serving, and cleanup. There are people in charge of the meal, therefore your role would be that of helper.

The program meets weekly on Mondays. Meals are served from 5-6. You may sign up for every week, or on a rotational basis (ie, first Monday of the month, etc).

An Ally is a person who volunteers to assist a Circle Leader in achieving his or her goals to leave poverty behind. Allies and Circle Leaders have an intentional friendship within the matched Circle. 

Allies receive training, attend weekly Circles meetings, and learn about poverty. Allies help Circle Leaders use their unique gifts and skills to reach their personal and financial goals.

The program meets weekly on Mondays from 5-7. We provide delicious meals and childcare.

Circles of Allen County is a way to journey alongside people who want to get out of poverty. Meetings are for the entire family and childcare is provided. Meals are eaten together and then the children and youth go to their designated programs while the parents go to theirs. You are invited to join the families for the meal.

This is a great opportunity for anyone who loves children.

The program meets weekly on Mondays from 5:00 to 7:00. You may sign up for every week, or on a rotational basis (ie, first Monday of the month, etc). If you do not want to join in the meal, please arrive at 5:45.

We are a day program for adults from 18-82 with developmental and physical disabilities. This position will assist an instructor in the classroom. 

Our current subjects are Math, Language Arts, Rec, Tech, Projects, Social Skills and Health.

We have small groups and you may work with an individual who requires hand over hand assistance or assist instructor by helping to organize class rooms, help students transfer from class to class and other assistance as needed.

Volunteers needed in thrift store to help sort donations, ready donations for store front, assist customers in store, light cleaning, and other duties as needed. Wednesdays 10am-4pm, Thursday 10am- pm, Friday 10am- 5pm, and Saturday 10am-4pm. 

Versiti Blood Center of Indiana and the Amish community outside of Fort Wayne partner to host large blood drives.  Because many in the Amish community do not have vehicles or transportation that provide easy access to blood drives, they have used local drivers in the past to transport donors to/from the drives.  Because of the increase in blood drive locations and frequency, we are seeking volunteer shuttle drivers to help keep this endeavor going.  This vital volunteer role would be responsible for transporting the majority of donors to participate in the community blood drives.

We host blood drives every 2 weeks, on a rotating basis.  They are divided into 4 areas: Southwest, Northeast, Harlan and Grabill.  You would be driving your own personal vehicle TO the site, then utilize a Versiti vehicle to transport donors.  

In order to volunteer for this position, you must complete an online application through Versiti which includes a motor vehicle check, background check and drug screen. 

1 shift from 3:00-9:00 pm. or 2 shifts, 3:00-6:00 pm or 6:00-9:00 pm

You can make a difference in the lives of seniors! Volunteers are needed to help with small group activities such as trivia and word games, puzzles, crafts, calling bingo, baking, and painting fingernails. We host occasional special events that we could also use your help with. You can offer your own special talent to brighten a day and bring a smile to a resident.

Camp Red Cedar holds Showdeo! our fall fundraiser and community event. We have carnival games, yard games, pony and wagon rides and lots of fun for all. 

We would like to add some new games to our inventory. You will find an example of a few ideas we would like to have built.

Fort Wayne Center for Learning is increasing our fundraising efforts and looking for volunteers to lend their talents.  Every aspect of the events must be planned as well as brain-storming new events.  If you are creative and love to design fundraisers or events, this opportunity would be a perfect chance to support your community.

We are looking for early childhood educators working with the age group of 3-6 while bringing your own experience and background to our program. We are seeking volunteers to assist us in reach our curriculum goals. Some examples include, but are not limited to:

Roots creates safe space for open conversation, peer support, and allows healthy peer relationships to form. It also teaches mentees they are not alone, they are not the only one with complicated lives, there is support for each of them.  Our mentees are teens and young adults ages 14 -26 years old. 

We would like you to: Attend a programming session on the first Thursday each month.  This session runs from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Davey's Bagels.  The business is closed and we are using the space for dinner and programming. You park in the parking lot of St John Lutheran Church, 729 W Washington.

A program mentor joins us for dinner and participates in the evenings programming.  We will be working through a book, Soundtracks by Jon Acuff.

Our program runs year around as many of our mentees need support even through the summer as their personal lives don't change much.

Lead students and groups on educational hikes, represent LC Nature Park at community events, and deliver nature-related programs. This will require the guide to be familiar with all aspects of the park, our goals and mission and be able to successfully relay that information to guests of all ages. Training is provided. 

Help preserve the park with activities like invasive species removal (honeysuckle, garlic mustard, etc.) and native seed collection. Scheduled periodically throughout the year. Great opportunity for groups of all ages. Guardian supervision if under 18.

Welcome guests as they enter the Mills Education Visitors Center and assist them with information about the park. You will be collecting money for memberships, donations, and merchandise. This also includes administrative work like stuffing envelopes, taking inventory, and organizing files.

Wells County CASA Program recruits, trains and supports CASA volunteers as advocates to get to know the abused or neglected child and determine their needs and recommend what is in the child’s best interest. The CASA volunteer communicates this information about the child to the court so the child’s voice can be heard and so the child does not become “lost” in the system.

The CASA volunteer helps the child to understand what is going on in the case and provides a friendly face, support, stability, and consistency for the child during legal proceedings amidst a sea of unfamiliar people - including police, doctors, child welfare workers, and lawyers. By presenting the best interests of abused and neglected children to the court, advocates help judges to make better informed and more timely decisions about children so they can be returned home or placed in a safe and permanent home as quickly as possible.

In addition to speaking for the child in court, CASA volunteers assist children in other ways to recover from the situations that placed them in foster care - providing encouragement and support to enable them to lead healthy, productive lives.  Advocates serve as role models to children who often have no one else to turn to.  For example, many advocates assist with educational needs, encourage career interests, and develop meaningful relationships with their assigned children that have a lifelong impact on both the children and the volunteer.

Prepare homes between residents.  Light cleaning to freshen up homes for our families graduating out of the shelter. 

Interested in helping keep Huntington city parks beautiful? Consider adopting a flower bed at one of Huntington's many park locations. It is a simple way to stay active and give back to our community. Volunteers are asked to keep selected flowerbed presentable by planting flowers and pulling weeds, remove all trash from the location, check the flowerbed once or twice a week, and commit to participate June through October. The City of Huntington Parks Department will provide flowers and tools as needed.

Love flowers? This is a fantastic opportunity to enhance the natural beauty of downtown Huntington. Volunteers will water hanging plants and get to appreciate the beauty of Huntington's downtown district. This is a weekly commitment that takes ninety minutes to complete. The watering season runs from June to October. Watering cart and training is provided. This is a relaxing and fun opportunity to water flowers as well as chat with visitors to Huntington.

Calling ALL who have a love for Huntington city parks! Help keep the parks looking clean and safe! Volunteers are needed to walk around a park a couple of times a week to check on and report the status of the park, such as reporting vandalism, littering, or other issues affecting the park. 

If you love to walk then you’re on the right path to help us with our trails! Volunteers are needed to walk the trails, clean up any debris, and report any downed limbs or other maintenance needed. You can walk at your own pace and enjoy what nature has to offer.

Help needed during regular Museum hours and during Special Events. Duties would include greeting guests to the Museum and answering questions about the Memorial Grounds and Museum Displays.

Ever wanted to see what that stage looks like behind the scenes? You can!

Dressers - Assist actors with costumes before, during, and after shows. Assist with quick changes during the show when costumes must be changed quickly, under the direction of the Costume Designer, sewing skills are appreciated but not required!

Props Crew - Responsible for location and organization of props, under the direction of the Props Master

Floor Crew - Work backstage to prep the stage for each scene change, under the direction of the Production Managers

Fly Crew - Brings any flying elements for the show in and out as cued by the Stage Manager

Spotlight Op - Operates spotlights during shows, as cued by the stage manager

Evening and weekend hours during performances, 3-4 week commitment

All of these positions are filled with community members that are dependable and want to be a part of this wonderful community we are building!

We have 2 Full time staff members that will work with you to assist in constructing and painting the sets and scenery for each play/Musical. No experience necessary, we love educating others about how our Scene Shop works!

Babe of Whitley County provides a free mom's group to our moms that participate in our program.  The 3rd Friday of every month from 10-11am, we are looking for volunteers to watch children in our playroom while the moms are in group.  Volunteers should arrive at 9:30am and plan to stay until 11:30am (2 hours).

Nets is our basketball program.  This program meets every 3rd Sunday at St John Lutheran Church as we utilize the gym.  This session includes dinner, a short lesson on personal growth and then an hour or so on the court.  This program is open to guys and gals of any skill level ages 14 - 26.  The main message is that healthy physical activity can reduce stress, anxiety and anger.  It also is great for those that deal with depression and other medical issues.  We want our mentees to learn that this healthy physical activity can be good for them mind, body and soul.

We need individuals willing to be present for programming night and to be engaged with dinner, conversation and being on the court.

Roots creates safe space for open conversation, peer support, and allows healthy peer relationships to form. It also teaches mentees they are not alone, they are not the only one with complicated lives, there is support for each of them.  Our mentees are teens and young adults ages 14 -26 years old. 

We would like you to: Attend a programming session on the third Thursday each month.  This session runs from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Davey's Bagels.  The business is closed and we are using the space for dinner and programming. You park in the parking lot of St John Lutheran Church, 729 W Washington.

A program mentor joins us for dinner and participates in the evenings programming.  Each month we have a different presentation from a business professional or another community organization.  The purpose is to broaden our mentees exposure.

Our program runs year around as many of our mentees need support even through the summer as their personal lives don't change much.

Seeds is a safe space to learn the basics of cooking and nutrition.  We prepare the food, cook the food and eat the food.  While we are eating we learn about the nutrition of the food and what healthy substitutions could be made if you didn't like an ingredient. 

We would like you to: Attend a programming session on the third Thursday each month.  This session runs from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at A Divine Encounter Cafe.  The business is closed and we are using the space for programming.

A program mentor participates in the evenings programming which includes prep and cooking of dinner.  Each month we cook something different and continue to learn about the nutrition our bodies need. The purpose is to broaden our mentees exposure.

Our program runs January through October.  November and December have holidays in the fourth week.

Whitley County Council on Aging/ Woodlands Senior Activity Center's mission is to enable the senior citizens of Whitley County to live confident, independent and productive lives by providing educational programs and services.

Volunteers deliver freshly-cooked meals to participants in Whitley County. Write date on lunch punch card for each meal. Deliver lunch punch cards and/or collect money for meals/lunch punch cards. Check on participants for signs of distress and notify front desk of any irregularities in delivery or appearance. WCCOA reimburses mileage at 32 cents per mile.

Hospital gift shop volunteers are responsible for greeting customers, helping customers when asked, and using a register to process the sale of items. 

Volunteers will be required to undergo a background check and training through Adams Health Network. 

Inasmuch Ministry has been at the corner of Washington and Broadway for over 30 years.  We are a food pantry and clothing closet, but so much more! 

We provide bus passes. 

We help individuals obtain their birth certificates. 

We assist with financial assistance for housing and utilities. 

We are seeing an increase in individuals in the community with needs and need volunteers to meet with the individuals who come in for assistance. 

We also ask the individuals if we can pray with them.
