Volunteer: Shuttle driver for Amish Blood DonorsVersiti Blood Center of Indiana and the Amish community outside of Fort Wayne partner to host large blood drives. Because many in the Amish community do not have vehicles or transportation that provide easy access to blood drives, they have used local drivers in the past to transport donors to/from the drives. Because of the increase in blood drive locations and frequency, we are seeking volunteer shuttle drivers to help keep this endeavor going. This vital volunteer role would be responsible for transporting the majority of donors to participate in the community blood drives. We host blood drives every 2 weeks, on a rotating basis. They are divided into 4 areas: Southwest, Northeast, Harlan and Grabill. You would be driving your own personal vehicle TO the site, then utilize a Versiti vehicle to transport donors. In order to volunteer for this position, you must complete an online application through Versiti which includes a motor vehicle check, background check and drug screen. 1 shift from 3:00-9:00 pm. or 2 shifts, 3:00-6:00 pm or 6:00-9:00 pm
