Come be a part of the fun this New Year's Eve!
Countdown to Noon is an annual event hosted by Science Central. On New Year's Eve, we open our doors to families from across the region. We have fun and festivities throughout the day.
At precisely noon, we drop balloons, and the number of balloons dropped equals the number of the next year we are welcoming in.
We need volunteers during the event to interact with guests and help with the activities. We could use help with set-up and tear-down, as well.
We also need volunteers prior to the event. Since we are welcoming in the year 2026, that means that 2,026 balloons need to be inflated during the week prior to the event. We have an air compressor with multiple ports set up to inflate the balloons. We need volunteers to inflate the balloons, tie the ends, place them in bags, and carry them up to the room where they will be stored until the event.
