The Audio Reading Service's target audience is listeners of all ages who have visual, physical, learning, or language challenges to reading traditional print. We broadcast the recorded readings of news and information from over 90 publications. Articles are read aloud and recorded in our studios.
One current opportunity is our Preschool Circle program!
• If you have a passion for early learning and literacy, read for our Preschool Circle program! A mix of picture books and magazines for young children, you’ll read stories and describe pictures in detail. Early education or related background and experience is preferred. Training for Audio Description of images will be provided. This is a weekly or every/other week commitment for a 90-minute reading timeslot. Additional prep time may be required. We can work with your schedule, Monday-Friday between 8:00 am - 3:00 pm.

If your reading skills and passions match our needs, we’d love to have you join our audio reading team of ACPL volunteers! An interview and audition are required.
