Volunteer facilitators are the heart of Erin's House. Our facilitators lead and encourage participants through games, crafts, and activities to explore their own thoughts and feelings about death and loss. Training for this position is provided.
Basics:
Evening availability (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday)
Commit to at least one (1) year of volunteering
Co-facilitate small groups of children/teens in your designated program room
Lead activities from crafts and games to journaling and conversation
Pizza dinner provided during every program night!
9-hour training provided before starting and 3 hours done independently (12 hours total)
Once training is complete, facilitators are able to volunteer at Erin's House programs, camps, and other fun opportunities!
Qualifications:
Must be at least 16 years old
Have access to internet for virtual groups if applicable
Work as a team member and care about children
Agree to criminal background check prior to assuming duties
Be able to work in a confidential environment
Time Commitment:
12-hours of training
Three (3) hours facilitating on designated program nights for 10 weeks or 4 weeks at a time
Example: Every Monday for 10 weeks facilitating from 5:45pm-8:30pm
Programs are held January-May, and August-November
Ready to commit to at least one (1) year of volunteering
Attend two (2) continuing education presentations throughout the year
