Join our volunteer team and make a difference in the lives of young learners in grades K-3! Help students reach grade-level reading through Project Reads, a one-hour after-school program. We have 16 school locations across Allen County. Tutors are paired with one elementary student at a designated school for the entire school year. We provide: As a volunteer, you’ll help students build confidence, spark a love for reading, and set a strong foundation for academic success—all on a schedule that works for you. No teaching experience is necessary—we provide all the training and ongoing support you’ll need. What You’ll Do: Meet individually with an adult learner at a local public library or our offices Support learners with academic and life skills tailored to their goals Provide consistent encouragement to help build skills and confidence Empower learners to pursue further education, better job opportunities, and greater independenceIdeal Volunteer Qualities: Patient, reliable, and empathetic Strong communication skills Passionate about lifelong learning and community impact.Commitment: Flexible two hours a week for at least six months—but the impact can last a lifetime.
