We are in need of individuals to assist at our front desk. This person is responsible for allowing individuals into our building for appointments, accepting and sorting mail, receiving packages, answering the phone, and other office tasks as assigned. 

You are required to complete a volunteer application on our website and undergo a background check given the work that we do.

Volunteer: Children's Needs Closet Organizer


The Children's Needs Closet Organizer will assist with the regular upkeep of our residential needs, clothing, and/or linen closets. Responsibilities may be shared among more than one volunteer. 


The Needs Closet Organizer must demonstrate a commitment to serving YWCA NEIN’s clients and upholding the YWCA mission.


This is an on-site volunteer position.


Roles & Duties:

Organizing and arranging items in basement storage room

Receive and put away donations for the children's storage room

Cleaning out and discarding unusable items

Keeping detailed inventory to send to staff

Communicating supply needs to staff

Responsible for following all established policies and procedures

Abide by the YWCA Northeast Indiana Code of Conduct, Non-Interference Policy

Maintain client and staff confidentiality

Other duties as assigned


*All YWCA Northeast Indiana volunteer positions require at least a 3 month commitment*

We are seeking a Bilingual Translator to interpret legal documents, housing applications, marketing materials, and other documents as requested, making sure to maintain their original meaning, format, and tone. To be successful in this volunteer role, you should have a keen eye for detail and be fluent in at least two languages (including English). The volunteer will provide ready-to-use translated content that meets our internal and external needs and helps us reach a broader audience.


Roles & Duties:

Read given material and convert text from one language to one or more

Ensure translated content conveys original meaning and tone

Proofread translated texts for grammar, spelling, and punctuation accuracy

Follow up with YWCA team members to ensure translation meets their needs

Edit content with an eye toward maintaining its original format (e.g., font and structure)
