Who We Are
Parkview Home Health & Hospice provides professional health care in the privacy of homes and in many area long-term care facilities. As a service of Parkview Health, we are a not-for-profit agency providing services to meet our patient and caregivers special needs. We are also licensed by the state of Indiana, accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, and certified by Medicare and Medicaid. Parkview Hospice has locations in Columbia City, Fort Wayne, Huntington, Kendallville, and surrounding areas, serving northeastern Indiana.
What We Do
Hospice volunteers provide services to individuals who are nearing the end of life. Some volunteer services include:
• Visiting with patients throughout the week for companionship or offering caregivers a chance to take time for themselves.
• Administrative office duties.
• Veterans to provide companionship to those who have served in the military and to participate in ceremonies of appreciation.
• Comforting patients nearing the end of their lives, as well as their family members through vigil visits.
• Bereavement support during the 13-month period following the death of a hospice patient through mailings, support groups, phone calls and help with memorial services.
• Making “tuck-in” phone calls to patients and their families to ensure needs and supplies are fulfilled.
• Certified therapy dogs for pet visits.
• Writing letters to patients or sending encouraging mail
The contributions of volunteers are essential to the services provided by Parkview Hospice.
